Check out the Urban Living Options in Northern Kentucky’s Southbank Cities

On Sunday, June 22 from 2 to 6 p.m. as an initiative of the Kentucky Heritage Council; Southbank Partners and Northern Kentucky Main Street will be sponsoring the Southbank Downtown Tour of Urban Living. The tour will showcase distinctive living opportunities and the many great amenities and walkable convenience of downtown living in eight great Northern Kentucky cities. On this self-guided tour attendees will be able to visit more than 20 downtown living options in Bellevue, Covington, Dayton, Ft. Thomas, Ludlow, and Newport. There will be a diverse mix of property at multiple phases in development; from owner success stories to finished, for-sale and lease properties as well as properties available for renovation. Various price points will be offered within the exclusive downtown districts, which showcase unique floor plans and impressive interior design. Also, development opportunities in the Elsmere, Erlanger, and Falmouth Main Street Districts will be on display along with representatives from all the participating cities at The Grand at Odd Fellows Hall, located at Fifth Street and Madison Avenue in Covington, Kentucky. All properties will be open from 2 to 6 p.m.

Attendees are invited to begin their tour at The Grand at historic Odd Fellows Hall to participate in a panel discussion from 2 to 3 p.m. The panel will address historic preservation tax credits, restoration, adaptive reuse of downtown space for living, and creating plans for property redevelopment and renovation. Panel participants are: Patrick Snadon, Associate Professor of Architecture and Interior Design at University of Cincinnati, Glenn Kukla of Middle Earth Developers, and Alex Weldon, a local preservation consultant. Professor Snadon teaches design studios, historic preservation studios, and the history of interior design. His scholarship and writing focus upon American architecture and interiors. Glenn Kukla has over 13 years experience in real estate development and finance. His current work at Middle Earth includes prospecting for new projects, arranging and negotiating financing, and design. Alex Weldon has used her extensive experience to assist the City of Covington, among others, with their preservation efforts.
